Can-Can

I watched Can-Can on DVD last night, a musical starring Shirley McClaine and Frank Sinatra, featuring tunes by the amazing Cole Porter. This card is in commemoration of the movie, which had some fun moments capturing the risqué exuberance of the once outlawed high kicks. (Some sources say the dancers wore split underpants! Which makes more sense of the dance's ban: even then the French were too worldly to get in a twist over mere petticoat exposure.) Someday I'll do more with all of the images and other stuff stockpiled in the Junk Dungeon here at Lucky Find Salvage Company headquarters than just sending them into Internet orbit. Iron-on transfer tote bags? But until I finish the 5 million other projects in line ahead of this Can-Can girl, she'll just stay here practicing her rond de jambe!
